FCM celebrates as Record Number Attend Annual Chamber event

FCM Associates was proud to offer PR support to the Burton and District Chamber of Commerce, when 80 attendees from businesses across Staffordshire and Derbyshire enjoyed the Chamber’s annual celebration lunch, held at Burton Albion Football Club on 24 May 2018.

This record attendance reflects the group’s growing membership which saw an increase of 12% last year across the Great Birmingham Chamber of Commerce region.

The event was hosted by the newly elected President of Burton and District Chamber of Commerce Nik Hardy, Managing Director of Hardy Signs and was also attended by newly appointed Vice-President Monica Douglas-Clark of Jones & Clark.

Guests were inspired by the headline speaker John Manchester of Repton based Gibson Technology, who shared the incredible journey of the world leading supplier of expertise in high performance race engines for the motorsport industry.

At the event Nik Hardy spoke about his new role and how the chamber and local business community have helped shaped his business, saying:

“I feel truly honoured to have taken over the role of President and I’m looking forward to being the best ambassador I can, in particular promoting and protecting the interests of businesses in our area.

“This year, our business is celebrating its 25th anniversary and a big part of our success has been down to the strong business community spirit we have in the local area which I’m very proud to be part of.

“We also have incredible opportunities for growth, via services such as the Growth Hub, where businesses can gain grants and business support to drive growth and expansion, an initiative we have benefited from.

“I’m looking forward to connecting with people from businesses across the area in the coming weeks and months. With over 20% of the local workforce in Chamber membership and with more than 200 networking events planned each year, there has never been a better time to be a member.”
